Privacy policy

Last updated: 1 October 2026

We keep things simple: you can use SoleMate without creating an account, and your quiz answers stay on your own device.

Information stored on your device

Your quiz answers, chosen currency and any shoes you add to the mileage tracker are saved in your browser's local storage so they're there when you come back. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us. You can clear it at any time with the Start over and Remove buttons, or by clearing your browser's site data.

Email signups

If you sign up for emails, we collect your email address along with the shoes on your shortlist or tracker, the page you signed up from and your currency, so we can send relevant deals and news. Signups are processed by our form provider, Formspree. We use your email only to send SoleMate updates, and every email includes a way to unsubscribe. We don't sell your email address.

Hosting and analytics

SoleMate is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. If we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, it measures visits without cookies and without tracking you across other websites.

Links to stores

When you click a link to a retailer such as Amazon or a price comparison page, that site may set its own cookies, including affiliate cookies that tell the retailer we referred you. Their privacy policies apply once you leave SoleMate.

Third-party content

Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver them. Any YouTube videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode, so YouTube doesn't store information about you unless you play the video.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the email information we hold about you by emailing [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local data protection laws.

Children

SoleMate is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
